MPNFL & SEWFL to resume this weekend with
NO SPECTATORS

To all our Loyal Members, Officials, Volunteers, Sponsors and Supporters,

On Tuesday night as the MPNFL Club Presidents meeting it was decided that all departments in the AFLSE will be returning to play sport this weekend (Saturday 31st July) as scheduled with NO SPECTATORS allowed to attend.

The NO SPECTATORS restrictions will remain for the final 2 home and away games of the MPNFL Division 2 season and the next 2 rounds of the SEWFL season. Unfortunately, the result means we have no home games scheduled for the remainder of the 2021 season. The short lived return to RF Miles reserve was a tremendous occasion for all our loyal members, players and supporters and we look forward to a full season at RF Miles Reserve in 2022.

The club will look to thank our members with a function in the coming weeks so please stay tuned for further details.

TIGER COMMITTEE 2022
Social Coordinator

In July 2020 the current committee engaged Sports Club Consultant, Terry Dillon, who conducted a strategic planning workshop. A revised committee structure, accompanied by the development of role statements for Executive (shown in blue), General Committee (red) and non-committee support roles (yellow) was one of the outcomes of the workshop

The principle behind the structure is that “many hands make light work” to form a strong team who can commit to prescribed roles without being overworking as volunteers. The aim of the structure is to help us become the best club off the playing arena, which would in-turn translate into the ultimate success for our sporting teams. We truly want to be the most successful and highly respected team in the region.
In the past 2 years we failed to secure a full committee and must do better than this if we are to attain our goals. Each week, until the end of the season, we will bring you an overview of the various committee roles with the hope that interest across our membership group will be developed to join the 2022 committee. New commers to the committee will be made welcome and top up a core group of dedicated current committee members. Whether you be a player, partner, parent, past player, past committee member, sponsor, current or prospective social member who believes you may have something to offer, we want to hear from you. There are roles big and small we need help with.
This week’s featured committee position is the General Committee position of Social Coordinator.
Holding social functions is not just about raising some much-needed funds for the club its more-so about creating a fun place to be off the sporting arena. A strong social environment not only builds friendships and stronger relationships across the club, it also provides opportunities to let our hair down once in a while after all the hard work is executed to deliver our playing success across all teams.
The Social Secretary’s role is to build a social calendar via the recruitment of a sub committee who can coordinate events that will engage people to participate across the club’s membership. Creating party time at Tigerland can be a rewarding experience for those who make this important contribution to our club.
COVID 20-21 has been a social disaster for us without an appointed Social Coordinator to the committee for the season and the cancellation on most functions due to lockdowns. 2022 will provide us the opportunity to get the place rocking again. Please consider this role as we head towards the 2021 AGM.
For more information on the role and/or a copy of the role statement, please contact Vice President, Phil Robertson (Robbo) on 0409 257 908 or email: robertsonmp@optusnet.com.au
